Congratulations to Pacific Islands Club’s winners in this year’s Excellence in Tourism Awards presented by the Guam Visitors Bureau.  Once a year the Excellence in Tourism Awards honor outstanding employees and companies in the tourism industry here on Guam.  We are proud to announce that two of our employees were recognized in this year’s awards.

Marine Center Captain Rainer Franz was a winner in the “Hero of Middle Management” category.  Rainer stood out for his impressive ability to enhance the guest experience here at PIC.  He is known to always have a smile on his face that is contagious to the guests with whom he interacts.  Rainer takes pride in making the PIC experience unforgettable and it shows.  Congratulations Rainer!

Rooms Control Clerk Merle Patricio was also a winner.  She was given a Hero Award in the Non-Supervisory category.   Merle works hard to ensure that PIC guests are as comfortable as possible when checking in.  Her positive attitude in any situation is inspiring.  Merle’s love for her job reflects in her work and we are extremely proud of this accomplishment.

 PIC's Jiivana Spa was nominated in the “Most Outstanding Local Tourism Facility/Attraction in 2008” category.  Jiivana spa offers a variety of different massage, detoxification, and healing experiences designed to enhance the wellness of the mind, body, and soul.  Since 2007 the Spa has undergone a major remodeling.  The interior has been completely modified along with its relaxing garden around the grounds.  Jiivana has also developed an impressive product line to assist you on your journey to well-being.  The Guam Visitors Bureau was very impressed with Jiivana’s offerings and newly-remodeled facilities and we invite you to come see for yourself.

The American Cancer Society puts on the Relay for Life every year to fight against Cancer. This year marks the twenty fifth anniversary of Relay for Life in North America.   On May 22nd Guam residents and businesses came together to participate in festivities that lasted all night.  Prior to the event people where encouraged to raise money for this important cause. Every department of PIC united to raise as much funds as possible.  We are proud to announce that PIC raised $11,323 this year, exceeding our goal of $11,200!  This year our donation put us in sixth place out of all of the teams’ donations. Our deepest appreciation goes out to all who helped.  Whether you helped raised funds or donated we thank you.  We are proud to support such a great cause.

When it is your birthday we want to celebrate it with you.  As an in house guest of PIC you can pick up a PIC Birthday Sticker from our Concierge Desk in the Lobby.  Wear it on the day of your birthday and allow us to make the best of your day.  Celebrate your birthday dinner at Skylight, Pacific Fantasies Dinner Show, Sunset Barbeque, or Bistro and we will be delighted to give you a scrumptious birthday cake*.

How many PIC activities and lessons can you complete?

Take the challenge with the PIC MISSION CARD!

In house guests can pick up a Mission Card and information packet at the Concierge Desk in the Lobby or at the Information Center in the Waterpark.  Guests will have to complete at least 8 of the 10 missions on the card. Guests will receive a mark on their card next to each mission they complete.  Once guests have completed 8 of the 10 missions, they will complete the information portion on the mission card packet and turn it into the Information Center or the Concierge Desk.

Three names will be drawn at the end of the month for awesome PIC Packages.

Cooking Class Flyer

The Guam Hotel & Restaurant Association presents quarterly cooking classes!

The first class will take place on Saturday, March 28^th at 8:00am at Pacific Islands Club’s Bistro Restaurant.  

The class will be led by Pacific Islands Club Executive Chef Rey Dasalla, Bistro Chef Christopher Aguon, and Pastry Chef Dominique Brindejonc.

All participants will learn basic culinary skills.  These courses will offer culinary classes from professional chefs, the ability to prepare 5-course meals for family and friends,a wine pairing seminar from Ambros Inc., secret Bistro recipes, and a certificate of graduation.  All supplies will be provided.

All participants will be served these meals at the end of the course and will receive a certificate of graduation.

There is a Chef in all of us!
